VP-Government Relations:

Rochelle Horn, CKD
ROCHELLE'S CREATIVE EDGE

Rochelle Horn got her feet wet in the industry selling carpet, draperies and furniture for the family business. When the business sold in the mid 1970’s she started a cleaning and maintenance company to clean the carpet, upholstery and draperies for her previous clients in the then small retirement community south of Tucson. That business grew to include water and fire restoration work and is still in business today. ...more

She left Arizona in 1988 and moved to Los Angeles with her two young children to work for a large Insurance restoration company that was one of the few union shops left in Southern California. As manager of interiors, it was determined she should learn more about the construction/structural end of the business. Her mentor was an older gentleman who wrote his estimates “on the back of old envelopes” and taught her how to scope, estimate and manage projects. The experience was priceless. Rochelle would meet with homeowners who had suffered an insurance loss such a fire, flood or earthquake. She would determine what it would take to get them back to their “pre-loss” state, however, most wanted to use the funds from the loss to remodel or renovate their homes. She would design and often value engineer the scope to facilitate their dream project, while staying sensitive to the budget. Those same skills translated very well into full service remodeling.

In 1995 she moved to Phoenix, became a licensed general contractor and worked for several large remodeling firms in the valley. In 2002 she became a Certified Kitchen Designer and went on to win NARI’s Contractor of the Year Award for a Kitchen remodel over $60,000 in 2003, 2005 & 2008. She also entered Decora` cabinetry Design Contest and was named the West Region Designer in 2005.

Rochelle has been very active in the local chapter of NKBA since 2003, serving as Treasurer for 2 terms, President for 2 terms, Chapter Rep for 1 1/2 years and now, as VP of Government Relations. Through her tenure on the board she was instrumental in helping to create Tucson and Southern Arizona as a sub chapter, then eventually become a full chapter entity of its own.

Owner of Rochelle’s Creative Edge, a remodeling consulting firm specializing in kitchen and bath design and renovations, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and daughter-in-laws as well as 6 amazing grand children. Rochelle loves to travel and is dedicated to personal growth and development.
